Cheers to Chocolate: Halloween Candy and Wine Pairing Guide

Halloween is the time for costumes, parades, trick-or-treating, and wine. Obviously. We’re pouring up our twist on the Halloween candy and wine pairing frenzy by toasting treat and grape brands that give back, plus celebrating those companies that make BOOzing a one-stop shop for alcohol-infused bites of happiness. You really can’t go wrong with any sips and sweets pairing – anything will be tastier than the Pop Rocks and Coke combo of childhood.

Candy for a Cause

Dylan Lauren of Dylan’s Candy Bar, a NYC staple, started Dylan’s Candy BarN to help support animal rescue organizations in their quest to find happy homes for all animals. They have adorable Halloween-themed treats from the “Rollin’ Wit’ My Homies” Halloween 2017 Pumpkin Mallow Pop ($9 each) to Oreo® Pumpkin Cookies ($14 for a pack of three).

Our personal favorite? Dylan’s Candy Bar Halloween Chocolate-Dipped Twinkies ($40 for a pack of six). You read correctly. Chocolate. Dipped. Twinkies.

Stores in NYC, Chicago, LA, and Miami. Treats available online at DylansCandyBar.com.

For treats that are kind to the rainforest, Newman’s Own donates 100% of profits (after normal business expenses) to their charity, Newman’s Own Foundation, with almost $500 million donated to date to orgs they support. Plus, the cocoa used in their products is Rainforest Alliance Certified. For Halloween (or everyday), we’re loving the Organic Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, Organic Dark Chocolate Peppermint Cups, and Organic Espresso Dark Chocolate Bars.

Wine for a Cause

Newbie ONEHOPE Wine has us shimmering from head to toe with their Brut Sparking Wine, Gold Glitter Edition ($59) because seriously, glitter makes everything better. Plus, each bottle provides 15 meals to a child in need making you sparkle from the inside out.

We also love the adorable Mini Glitter Sparkling Brut bottles in Silver ($360 for a case of 12), perfectly sized for taking Moana trick-or-treating.

In addition to wine, they have all sorts of other goodies, such as their ONEHOPE Pumpkin Spice Latte Gift Box ($59), chock full of coffee, pumpkin spice syrup, a spiced pumpkin soy candle, and gingerbread with pumpkin seed popcorn. Every box helps fund one year of clean drinking for one person in need.
