Rad Mom Gift: Rad Art
Don’t buy your mom more junk. Old school Williamsburg, Brooklyn gallery, Cinders Gallery, has been around for over a decade and has an awesome selection of art from rad artists who you need to know about. Just because she has kids doesn’t mean that she needs to start buying art from a big box store. Snatch up an original or a print to brighten mom’s day while supporting real artists and a non-profit gallery that puts art and good vibes first. If your mama is into art, music, and making things, Cinders should be on your list of places to look for a Mother’s Day gift.
Here are some of my favorite, more affordable, pieces from Cinders’ collection; each of which will make a totally rad mom gift:
Renew by Allyson Mellberg – Original, signed, framed, egg tempera, walnut ink, with cut paper, 8 x 10″. $300
A Kind of Humming Silence by Serra Victoria Bothwell Fels – 4 color silkscreen, 14.75 x 5.5 inches, edition of 140, signed. $40
Flower Mask by Kelie Bowman – Seven color silkscreen print with spray paint, 11.5 x 13.5 inches, signed, edition of 50. $60
Space 2: Snake Den by Jungil Hong – Screen print on paper, 21.5 x 20 inches. $125
Of course, you can always peruse their entire collection to find something that speaks uniquely to you, too. And, check out my other rad ideas that are just for moms.
