MMC-Wonder-Mom-Dr-Linda-Parra

This Wonder Mom is the owner of mini fashion house House of Posh Tots Boutique, a dentist at family-owned dental practice Dr. Parra Implant Center, the founder of Instagram sensation @BabyElleStyle, wife to Dr. Everardo de la Toba, and mother to Elle and Ever. Elle’s arrival inspired this women’s fashion-loving mom to embrace the fun of children’s fashion and all its micro splendor! Linda and her family are based in Yuma, AZ.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

I’m a dentist and boutique owner. I run and own a large dental practice with my husband who is also a dentist. My father was a dentist so dentistry is in my genes but fashion is in my soul. I started my children’s boutique almost three years ago because I’ve always loved fashion and styling and after I had Elle I just went head over heels for everything mini. Elle definitely is my muse but now having a boy is changing my view on fashion.

HOW HAS HAVING ELLE AND EVER TRANSFORMED YOUR LIFESTYLE?

It’s definitely slowed me down but in a way that allows me to appreciate and live in the moment. It’s simplified my expectations of success but it’s also made me work three times harder to do what seems like less but in reality is the most rewarding work I’ve ever accomplished… motherhood!

5 WORDS TO DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL SENSE OF STYLE?

Classic, bold, modern, fun, quirky.

HOW DO YOU FIND TIME TO GET READY AND MAINTAIN YOUR STYLE?

I wake up early and when I don’t I compromise with a lot of dirty hair buns (big ones)!

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR ENERGY?

I go to bed early, I workout, I try to eat well, I plan and schedule my time so that I’m not wasting it and I just do it! We are always capable of much more than we think. Women are by nature multi-taskers and I firmly believe we are capable of so much more!

WHAT IS YOUR SPIRIT ANIMAL?

The Jaguar.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU? (OTHER THAN ELLE & EVER)

The streets inspire me, whether it be fashion, culture, language. I love to people watch and those that don’t sit in car in traffic all day are the ones that are truly living!

WHO ARE YOUR ROLE MODELS AND WHY?

My mother is my role model hands down. She is kind, giving, ballsy, successful, but most importantly she says what she means. This today is a lost trait (with the exception of Cardi B), I just adore her authenticity and I strive to be half the woman my mom is.

ANY WORDS THAT YOU LIVE BY?

“To each his own.” I think people get too caught up in other people and they don’t live their best life.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO WITH ELLE & EVER?

I love to just be home with my children and have nothing else to do other than to enjoy their little faces and tickle their little bellies.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH MORE TIME?

Stay home.

HOW DO YOU BALANCE FAMILY AND WORK?

I try to get all my stuff done (whether work or errands) before I get Elle from school and when I’m with her I’m with her. No work, no answering emails. I just dedicate time slots in my day for each thing. I try not to commingle so that I’m not half assing each one.

3 PRODUCTS THAT YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT AS A NEW MOM?

So many new products since I had Elle, but I love the DockATot for sleeping baby Ever, so simple but so genius. I wish it would have existed when I had Elle. The Owlet Monitor – I don’t use it as much anymore but it gave me such peace of mind the first few months. The mamaRoo lounger is genius and frees my hands for dinner and laundry.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO RELAX?

Dates with my husband and lunches with my friends and well, wine!

WHAT TIME DO YOU GET UP ON A TYPICAL DAY?

4:30am on days I workout, 6am on days I don’t, and 7am on weekends.

WHAT DO YOU TYPICALLY EAT FOR BREAKFAST?

Vega protein shake, avocado or peanut butter toast, hard boiled egg, green juice, kombucha.

COFFEE, TEA, WINE, TEQUILA, OR OTHER?

Tea and Champagne!

WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT YOU STRUGGLE WITH FITTING INTO YOUR LIFESTYLE AND HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH IT?

I struggle with finding romantic time for my partner, we work together so we see each other all day but it’s hard to turn off business sometimes and be romantic. It gets easy to forget how much you mean to one another.

ANY ADVICE FOR NEW MOMS, OR MOMS WHO ARE STRUGGLING TO MAKE IT ALL WORK?

You can do it all but not all at once. Do what you can in a day and what you can’t save it for the next. Don’t compare yourself to other moms because we are all different and no one but that mom truly knows what goes on in her day. Instagram is not real life.
