Trend Alert: Timbos on Your Toes
Every so often something catches my eye. And then it catches my eye again, and again, until I can’t deny that a trend is taking shape. Over the last few weeks I’ve seen no less than a dozen people around Williamsburg and Greenpoint rocking old school Timberland boots. Yup, the same ‘Timbos on Q-Tip’s toes back in the day on the Beastie Boys’ “Get it Together”. Not only are these unmistakable rugged fashion accessories part of hip-hop history, they’re some bad ass boots on their own. They’re made to take a serious beating in the snow, rain and mud while keeping your feet feeling as cozy as a couple of curled up kittens. Aww. I saw a hipster couple on the L Train yesterday wearing matching boots. Valentine’s Day gifts, anyone? Occasionally trends don’t fully develop and become flash in the pan fads, but these boots are so tough, practical and worth every penny, that I can’t see them not catching on. Be brave, wear them with everything.
Men’s 6-Inch Basic Waterproof Boots w/Padded Collar
What makes them awesome? Waterproof construction to keep feet dry no matter what, laces made of 100% recycled materials that are engineered to stay tied, padded collar to keep your ankle comfy even on long walks, powerful lug sole that can grip on almost any surface and 400 grams of PrimaLoft® ECO insulation for warmth.
Women’s 6-Inch Premium Waterproof Boots
How are the women’s different from men’s? They aren’t much different, that’s for sure, but they do have 200 grams of Primaloft ECO® insulation instead of 400 (not sure why?) and they have an anti-fatigue midsole and removable footbed.
Now, listen to the track to get you in the mood for getting in on this before the cold weather is over and you have to wait until everyone else to get em next fall. Be first! Check 3:09 for the Timberland shout out.
