Adorable Sneaks for a Steal

Umi LandonIt’s so hard to find great shoes for your growing monkey’s feet. And let’s face it, when it comes to kids shoes, you get what you pay for. I have tried buying cheap-o shoes and either a) monkey can’t walk in them b) they last about a week before he destroys them c) I can’t get them on his feet. It’s so frustrating because it feels 100% crazy to spend a lot of money on shoes that they’ll outgrow in a few months. Now, I’m not going to lie. I have to admit that I’m actually really lucky in the kid shoe department because I have a sister who works in Manhattan and buys my son a pair of shoes every so often (i.e. just often enough) at this amazing shoe store in Tribeca called Shoofly. If you’re ever near Duane Street and Hudson Street in New York City, stop in and stock up but be ready to put a dent in your available credit card balance. If it wasn’t for her, I’d be going nuts trying to find shoes that he likes walking in so much but for half the price or less.

Well, Umi makes amazing children’s shoes. They’re one of those brands that charges more than I’d like but always takes special consideration of growing and developing tootsies to make sure that they create the best, most comfortable (and cute, too) shoes for little feet. I check in on their clearance page every so often to hunt down a deal and when I did that this morning, I saw that my son’s favorite sneakers, the Umi Landon, are still on sale! They’re $60 full price and you can snatch em up for $24 right now. They come in 3 colors and will be perfect for spring, summer and fall. The velcro stays shut and the super light, flexible soles make it easy for early walkers to stay upright and confident walkers to jump, skip, scoot and otherwise haul ass. So, do it.

What other brands do you trust to your babes’ feet? Please share in the comments.
