Trend Alert: Geometric Design
No, I’m not talking about STEM toys. You’ll see a post on that soon enough. I’m talking about tessellation taking over every aspect of our well-designed lives. It only makes sense. We’re so overloaded with chaos as city people that a little simple touch of clean and classic geometry goes a long way in making us feel organized, stylish and safe. About a year ago my husband said that he was tired of wearing all of his dress shirts with the tiny flower prints on them because the guys on Wall Street where he works (not in banking) were now catching on. I said, “Don’t fret! There’s a new trend that you can get on top of…geometry!” Well, it’s taken a while but I think that it’s actually starting to seriously take root. Here are a few of my favorite geometric finds from handbags to housewares to party decorations.
VOX bag by Finell. They have an entire line of geometric bags that are insanely beautiful and pricey. But, if you can afford the splurge, please do. $1,195.00
I’m in love with these door handles found courtesy of one of my favorite blogs, Visual Heart, in Vancouver and created by Studio Forma.
Geometric Triangle Garland $10 for a 10 foot strand of 2″ triangles.
Skeleton Tall 3D Printed Ring by Butterscotch of BK $80
These gorgeous “hanging argyle” Japanese vases by 1012 Terra found on The Jungalow
Linear Quad Cufflinks by Timber Line Jewelry
And this unique kid’s birthday cake, brilliant wedding cake or cake for any other day of the year, really.
See what else I think is on the verge of mass popularity….
